Love Bedford Jubilee Window Dressing Competition BedfordBID are inviting all Bedford Town Centre venues to take part in a Jubilee Window Dressing Competition, to get us ready to celebrate Jubilee Weekend at the beginning of June. We encourage you to visit Bedford from Monday 9th May to check out the displays, and to prepare for your own celebrations. You’ll be able to vote for any venue you choose, online on our Jubilee Hub, until Sunday 5th June. We’ll announce the winner of Best Jubilee Display by popular vote, on Tuesday 7th June. We’ll also place all those who voted into a random prize draw, and one lucky winner will win £50 of Love Bedford vouchers, which can be used at more than 280 locations across the Town Centre. Bedford Platinum Jubilee Beacon Lighting – Thursday 2 June The United Kingdom’s long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons will continue for the Platinum Jubilee. Over 1,500 beacons will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories.
In Bedford, a beacon will be lit on Castle Mound, Newnham Rd, at 9:45pm. This event is free to attend. More info: bedford.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/ arts-and-culture/queens-platinum-jubilee/
The Higgins Bedford – Friday 3 June The Higgins Bedford is hosting a Platinum Jubilee Craft Activity. Come along and get ready for your Platinum Jubilee Garden Party by decorating a hat or crown to take away and impress your neighbours. This session will take place from 2pm until 4pm, and is suitable for families with children under 12.
