Here is our volunteering pick for February 2022. At this continuing difficult time, one thing is certain – many of our local organisations are having a huge impact on our local community and need your help. Here is a small selection from the opportunities we hold at CVS Bedfordshire from organisations across the area.
We invite you to subscribe to our monthly newsletter at www.cvsbeds.org.uk/volunteernewsletter for monthly news of the latest opportunities and other volunteering related news.
43 Bromham Road, Bedford Call 01234 354 366 or Email: volunteering@cvsbeds.org.uk www.cvsbeds.org.uk
We offer short-term person-centred counselling for carers – face to face, by phone or video. We are looking for counsellors who will gently encourage carers to talk about what’s going on for them and help identify how to change or manage things in a different way going forward. You will not give direct advice or opinions.
British Red Cross – Beds, Herts & Essex: Mobility Aids Customer Service
This is a very rewarding role providing muchneeded support for people who are accessing our service. Based in Bedford you will serve members of the public who require a wheelchair or other mobility aids equipment.
1st Wixams Scouting: Assistant Scout Leader
Support the operation of this Group with up to 28 Scouts in the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of other leaders and members of Scout Active Support. The role involves training through Scouting UK and a Personal Development Plan will be created to support you and your team.
Bedford Guild House: Accounts Assistant
An opportunity to join a busy, dynamic and passionate team of staff and volunteers with a shared vision in a charity with older people at its heart. The Finance Assistant will support the CEO and Board by taking on the Accounts Payable processing, reporting and ad hoc finance duties.
Salvation Army Charity Shop: Driver/Stock Generator
Help to raise awareness of our local shop stock requirements with local businesses and organisations; contacting them for surplus stock, building a data base of donors, arranging collections and sending out thank you cards. Help to collect bags of donations from customers’ homes and deliver back to the shop and to move stock from shop to shop or even take unsellable goods to the local tip.
Search for and register an interest in any of the listed roles below by adding the name of the organisation into the keyword field on our Simply Connect opportunity search at cvsbeds.org.uk/volunteer
