THE KINGFISHER riverside pub and rooms – coming soon to Bedford sharing platters, including a traditional style ploughmans and antipasti. The 49 bedrooms have had a refresh and are welcoming back travellers from far and wide. The stunning 13th century barn has been relaunched as The Tithe Barn, Bedford and continues to host weddings and events. Managing Director Andrew McKenzie says “The Kingfisher is the result of a complete transformation of our building and we hope it will become THE place to be on the Bedford dining scene. A bold and creative re-design coupled with locally sourced, imaginative food and drinks, served by a great team of happy, smiling people will be a great draw for guests both old and new”.
After the long anticipated wait since the flooding in December 2020, The Kingfisher – riverside pub and rooms – is set to open it’s doors on Saturday 6th August. What was the Barns Hotel has been transformed into The Kingfisher, a stylish riverside pub with rooms serving cask ales, great wines and delicious seasonal dishes. The new menu has a focus on local produce and with many standout suppliers of quality produce on the doorstep, wherever possible they will be sourcing locally. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be coming from AB Fruits of Bedford and meat from Woburn County Foods. It doesn’t stop there – there are also amazing wines on the wine list coming from Warden Abbey Vineyard and guest ales from around the county. Think juicy burgers, freshly made pizzas, sharing plates and chef’s signature dishes which include catch of the week and a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. There will also be delicious
