Known for her many television appearances (including guest spots on Glee and American Idol) and theatrical roles (she played Glinda the Good Witch in the original production of Wicked), the Tonyand Emmy-Award-winning actress is currently starring on Broadway in Neil Simon's Promises, Promises. She recently talked to us about her sweet tooth, her cocktail of choice, and her top restaurants from coast to coast. Is there a recipe that you like to make at home? I stay pretty simple because that's what I have time for. I love to bake—I'm a big sweets person. I just love a regular chocolate chip cookie.

Name three things that you always have in your refrigerator. This is so embarrassing: Coca-Cola; turkey and Swiss, because I like to make little roll-ups with them for protein; and ranch dressing— everything goes with it. Tell us about your most memorable meal. For my 16th birthday party, my mother made my favorite foods—lasagna, a great salad, garlic bread, and chocolate cake with pink icing. It sounds very Pollyanna of me, but those are the meals that I remember, with all my friends and family there and my mom making my favorite things. Where are your favorite restaurants and what do you like to order there? I split my time between New York City and Los Angeles, and in L.A., I love a restaurant called BLT Steak. It has some of the best steak I've eaten in my life. I'm a big steak lover, and they have wonderful appetizers and popovers. I usually get the filet, butterfly cut. In New York City, I don't indulge as much because I'm always running somewhere. But I absolutely adore Café Luxembourg on the Upper West Side—you can get anything there and it's good. They have a wonderful chicken breast with au poivre sauce, broccoli, salad, and mashed potatoes. It's very Euro-looking but also very New York. I go at least once a week. What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten? When I went to Malaysia, I had octopus. I don't like it. I was sitting at the table with royalty, and it's considered rude if you don't eat it. It was still moving when I put it in my mouth. Of all of the places you've traveled, where is the best food? A lot of people might say Europe, but I love the feel and atmosphere of restaurants in Chicago. I was just there singing, and we went to McCormick and Schmick's, which is pretty well known, and the feel of it was so good—the atmosphere and the service and the food. The steak was outstanding—I keep saying that, but it's what I enjoy. Maybe the experience was enhanced because the people were so cool. No matter where I've been taken to in Chicago, I always think, Man, the food is good! What's your drink of choice when you go out? I'm a simple Cosmopolitan girl. It's a drink that has always represented being grown-up to me. Being a sweets person, what's your ultimate dessert? At Joe Allen's in New York, I order the banana cream pie. It's ridiculously good. I had it two nights ago. When I'm in town and I want to treat myself, that's what I have. KEYWORDS: Feedback, Celebrities, Celebrity, Kristin
