Drive through Tam Giang Lagoon till you reach the ancient city of Hue. Our Hue city tour has to start at the amazing 19th century Citadel of Hue which surrounds the original Imperial City, the Purple Forbidden Palace and various ancient monuments. More recently in 1968, and during the Tet Offensive, the most famous “Battle of Hue” resulted in enormous damage to both the city and Citadel - you will see signs of this and rebuilding works to this day. This is a massive royal compound which requires almost 2 hours to visit. However, guarantee with ornate palace and royal gardens.
09:30 - We will then visit the very special Thien Mu (Heavenly Lady) pagoda overlooking the Perfume River which at 7 stories high originally built in 1601

11:30 - Returning to Hue city, we visit Dong Ba market, an amazing place where you can observe the daily life of our local people. After that, you will be taken for a local lunch in a ROYAL MANDARIN GARDEN where houses many ceramics antiques from the Nguyen Dynasty time. You shall enjoy wonderfully tasty and artistic royal cuisine served by the descendant of Nguyen emperors.
14:00 - In the afternoon, we visit the most beautiful tomb of Emperor Tu Duc (1829 1883). Located in a narrow valley 8 km from Hue in Duong Xuan Thuong village, Tu Duc's tomb is one of the most beautifully designed complexes and is embedded in a lush pine forest. Tu Duc had the longest reign of any Nguyen dynasty Emperors.
Finally, you enjoy a tasty salt coffee before heading back to Chan May 17:00 - You reach Chan May port saying goodbye to your driver and guide.
