African Ambition
I am originally from Kenya, and as an African, I have a grand vision for the motherland. Before I get into that, I’ll talk about my background for a bit. I was born in Kenya in the early 90s to two university students. They were not in a position to raise a child at that point in their lives, however, they managed to maneuver their way to a better situation in life, which is about the point we moved to South Africa (I was 5 years old at this point). Then at about 17 years old, I moved to Canada for university, where I have lived for about 5 years now.
In my life, I have been to about 15 different countries on three different continents. This has allowed me a great amount of exposure to what life has to offer. I have also seen what some other people in other places have done for their countries. All of these things made me wonder why Africa is lagging behind so much in a lot of departments. It then hit me, that there is no reason why Africa couldn’t rise to the level of any other place on Earth. This is why I have decided to use all the knowledge and skill that I have
accumulated from all my experiences to return to Africa (more specifically Kenya) and help unleash all of the potential that is buried deep in its heart.
I intend on accomplishing this grand mission through business and philanthropy. When I say “businessâ€? I am referring more to technology driven business (akin to Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook‌etc.). Of the two (business and philanthropy), I am more driven by the prospects of philanthropy because that is the best way to unlock the potential of the present and future generations. This is without a doubt a goal that cause people to view me as a mentally unstable person, but I am so driven by the cause that nothing anyone says or does will stop me from accomplishing it. In my mind, I have it visualized in so much detail that it is as good as reality for me; now we just have to wait for it to become reality for everyone else in real time.
