Dear friends

Bees for Development is dedicated to providing help to beekeepers. But what is the best help? We believe that the most effective, long-term and valuable help is good information. Information to improve technical skills and understanding of bees. Help-in contacting other local beekeepers and getting assistance. Ideas to stimulate beekeepers to improve their craft and gain more satisfaction from it. Reviews of new publications and how to get hold of them. Dates of upcoming conferences and courses, and where to obtain further details. These are all ways that Bees for Development is helping you be well informed.

The main way we achieve this is in this journal, Beekeeping & Development.

It is now year since Bees for Development took over independent publication of the journal. Its future now looks well assured thanks to donors, sponsors, subscribers and contributors. We have received letters of support from beekeepers the world over: it seems that the different style and scope of Beekeeping & Development is rapidly gaining appreciation. We welcome your comments, contributions and requests. We will strive to answer your enquiries but please make them as specific as possible. The enquiries we find impossible to fulfil are those which begin: “Please send all information on beekeeping’!

But do write to us with your requests. and news to share with others.
