Dear friends
Lots happening at Bees for Development!
The Troy Trust
Bees for Development is entering its eight year providing information and support to beekeepers in developing countries. To help with this work we are delighted to announce a brand new Charity. Its name is the Troy Trust and its aim runs hand-in-hand with Bees for Development's: helping people to help themselves by the craft of beekeeping.
Beekeeping is a worthwhile activity, even for the poorest people in the most remote places. It can help people to improve their standards of living in ways that are completely sustainable. The Troy Trust is seeking funds to provide more help. Th Troy Trust will not hand out free hives, but it will provide free information on how to build hives, manage bees and make income from them.
The year ahead is full of activities for Bees for Development. Please help us to continue this work bu supporting the Troy Trust.
Worldaware Award
Bees for Development has once again been recognised by a prestigious award. We came second in the Worldaware Business Awards "not for profit" category, for our work in organising successful Beekeepers' Safari to Tanzania and India.
Congratualtions Nell
The New Year also brought the news that stalwart worker, Nell Holt-Wilson, is to marry: the lucky fellow is Gus Hellier. Unfortunately for Bees for Development this mean that Nell is leaving to establish a new home in Edinburgh (600 km away; too far to fly back every day!). We say goodbye and send all best wishes to Nell and Gus for the future.
