HARVESTING & WINEMAKING TOUR FOR WINE LOVERS BY BEEYOND TRAVEL The first of a series, this is the seasonal tour for the wine lovers and for those curious to understand what is behind a good bottle of wine. Puglia long-standing tradition of excellent wines is the perfect region in Italy to consider for your vacation. In the past, the vineyards were filled with friends, acquaintances, relatives, neighbors, ready to work and then share a final banquet in simplicity and cheerfulness. The harvest represented an opportunity to share with others an entire year of effort and work not always paid off properly (for example due to sudden hailstorms or adverse weather events). The harvest was also attended by the children, who filled the countryside with cheerful laughter while the older children taught them how to collect grapes from the branches without ruining it. Each family started out in the countryside at first light of dawn, and work continued until lunchtime.

EXPERIENCE THE THRILL OF WINEMAKING FROM HARVESTING TO THE FINISHED PRODUCT, IN THE MAGICAL APULIAN COUNTRYSIDE. Combining such experience with the fun, the excitement and relaxation is the perfect recipe for a vacation with a twist. A vacation you did not think possible...until now. 7 departures only for 2020. The first one set for August 29th.

BARI: THE POWER OF THE SEA

BY IN GIRO CON ANGELA

for BeeYond Travel

Port city overlooking the Adriatic, Bari is a real discovery. It is a lively city, rich in history and colors; a city as authentic as it gets. Its labyrinthine historic center, Barivecchia, is reflected directly onto the sea, occupying a promontory between two ports. The fulcrum is undoubtedly the Basilica of San Nicola, an imposing Romanesque basilica dating back to the 11th century and dedicated to the patron saint of the city.

To better understand the beauty of Bari, you must open up and let yourself be involved in its rhythms: frenetic in the Borgo Murattiano, the modern part of the Apulian capital, and slow in the historic center, where the concept of time is totally reversed. Here you will find nice ladies who skillfully prepare the orecchiette and men who, despite the long night spent at sea, do their best to sell the freshest fish. Dedicate at least 2 days to this city, so that you can experience it from sunrise to sunset.

Exactly like the old tradition, this experience starts at the “mercato” (open market) with Chef Domenico selecting the best ingredients for this home-cooked meal.
