Hello. My name is Begüm. I want to explain why I want to design products. I like the idea of being an invisible part of people’s life with ordinary objects and the process of creation which is never ended. Also what I really like is the stories behind the objects. The story of an object usually starts with a coincidental thought and it transforms into a product idea. The thought of seeing the final product and being a part of user’s memories is really satisfying for me. This is the reason why I am happy to be a product designer.

Isobody Collection for Stilnest is inspired by one of CAD programs’ way of modelling developable surfaces. These sculpted surfaces give the isocurves that are the framework for the final design. The result is a play between organic and straight shapes. The collection consists of a bracelet, a necklace and a set of earrings. All pieces are made from 925 silver and are available in a sandblasted silver, rose gold or gold finish.

E N K I A functionalized surface design for bathroom that inspired from the float of the water in nature

with KaleSeramik

Bathroom Design // Enki // June 2014 // Page 14

Concept In this project bathroom is thought as a relaxing place which make us meet with water. To understand the movement of water, we should feel the water. If we want to feel the water, we should start to think from the beginning. Beginning of the float. In nature water float changes the soil and type of soil also changes the water float. Water leaks from the layers of earth and finds its way. In substance this project is built on this thought. It is consist of washbasin, faucet and 11 specialized tiles design.

Bathroom Design // Enki // June 2014 // Page 15

Process In this project the bathroom is defined as the place which is surrounded by water. Then the thought was the float from the thinnest point of the rock / wall. To show the thinnest point I decided to use layers.

I made some mock-ups from clay to understand the process.

at WertelOberfell GbR

Furniture Design // Junction Table // October 2014 // Page 21

Concept The American Indians were building their tents by using wooden sticks. This project is influenced by the tepees. The sticks hold the table top instead of the sky. For holding the sticks together the tree branches shows the way and the geometry is built by this way. The 3D printer is used only at the necessary parts for merging the standard industrial materials instead of the rope.

product idea

The project began with this sentence : ‘Borders are about maps. We cannot draw a line on the mountains or the seas.’

To programme the working space topografical methods are used.

Then it is built with this metaphoric relation and thus the hierarchy of the spaces between the borders eased to define the working space.

The geographical elements’ interactive relations’ functional reflaction is used for working space design.

The choise of the material and the production method is made with the same metaphoric relation and in this way consistency, continuity and integrity of design is aimed to provide.

Nature contains connective and separator elements that composes the borders’ of nature.

Variations of Working Space The main material of working space is indicated as plywood. The parts which are cutten by CNC are reversing and essembled. This production scenario eases to the producer and thus settlement in place becomes varied. The model which is choosen according to shape and direction of place is ordered by users and producer company essembles the parts according to these orders. For 4 table tops, 5 panels of plywood are

working space for 4 users
