INTRODUCTION
OBJECTIVE
This paper is written for building life cycle management course. It creates the first section of four sectioned research. Researchs are c o n c e n trated on office buildings which has different floor numbers and layouts. First section is about one floor ,”u” shape office building. Fourteen simulations are done for the one floor building with different fenestration ratios, overhang factors and glazing types. Information collect regarding with heating, cooling and ligthing expences. With the help of illumanance maps, dayligth usage datas are conciderd.
The aim of this research, calculating energy consumption of a office building. In general, four set of simulation shows the how different layouts and floor numbers affect energy consumption. It shows how fenestration ratio, overhang factor and glazing type changes energy consumption when consantred in one set of simulation. Termal comfort, ligthing comfort is examined in building with simulations which are simulated different dates and times. With the sun studies sun ligth angles are determined. With all these data sets, most suitable option tried to choosen.

TOOLS
ACCEPTANCES
For simulations, two programs have been used,one of them is SketchUp which owned by Google from 2006 till today and the other one is OpenStudio which is a cross-platform collection of software tool that provides analysis for building energy modeling in cooperation with EnergyPlus. First program Sketchup provides 3D modelling and visualition, and being used by lots of disciplins like engineers, architects, film or video game designers etc. Some of its versions are not free but SketchUp Make 16 is totally free to use, which used for this simulation. The main layout of the structure is drawn by the help of this program and further Open Studio works are done with its user interface. Open Studio works as a plug-in on SketchUp Make 2016 and calculates the energy consumption and day-light analysis with the drawn layout in SketchUp, after extrusion with given height and defining the spaces. Its library with all working hours and acts of users in the building and tools for quick operations were benefitial for this research like window-to-wall ratio and adding overhangs by projections. Open Studio after gives graphs and calculations, tables of informations, how much this building consumes energy.
Some general rules has been set for research done in a harmony and order. Office building’s site is assumed in Izmir, so climate zone determined as 3C. 3C climate zone defined in the ASHRAE 169-2006 standard as “Warm-Marine” climate. Enviroment of the building is ignored except location. Heating system is accepted as rooftop-heatpump. Open Studio’s defoult space types, termal zones and shedules are used. Level high set as 4 m. The openings are defined with the wall to window ratio and the overhangs are defined with the window to overhang ratio.

LAYOUT The architectural form and distrubition of functions in the layout defines a one story office structure. Megaron type provides more sunlight inside, but because of it is in İzmir which has a hot climate, double-facade like layout being used with taking closed offices offseted by elevation with a corridor. Layouts contains two different type of informations, 1 is about the functions and the other one is about the thermal zones. First, functions are distrubited in the building along a double wing layout which has 21 closed office rooms, 2 lobbies, 2 conference halls, 2 open offices, 2 restrooms, 1 IT-room, 1 mechanical and electrical room, 1 print room and 1 huge break room where the illuminance map, glare and sunlight sensors located in. 2 main thermal zones created for this building, conference halls, closed and open offices, IT-room and print rooms are at the same thermal zones, in the other hand restrooms, corridors, lobbies, print and mechanical-electrical rooms are defines the second thermal zone. Break room defines another thermal zone as it is, because illuminance map, daylight and glare effect sensor have to be in a different thermal zone from other rooms for script to work. So, biggest space in the project defines third thermal zone, in the middle of the building as a thampon area.
