JOHN DEWEY In our globalized world each of us is responsible to others and to the world. An occupation is a way for each individual to serve others and the world and the modern world needs people able and educated to work in its service. In architectural terms, the world today needs people able to create sustainable design and I am passionate about such architecture and construction. I always aim to improve my understanding of form and space. Also, I want to learn about structures, to understand structures and skins of buildings. Architecture defines spaces that we live all of our lives inside of. This includes a building or, in the larger sense, a city. I love architecture because architecture is integrated with the social and the cultural. Monuments, symbols of each society in many cases, narrate the story of history and civilizations. Architecture is art of stimulating thoughts. As my professor, Dr. Chenaf once told me, architecture is not meant to be just aesthetic visually; more, it is meant to “address minds”. Architecture can stimulate emotions and narrate stories and cultures as does, for example, Renzo Piano’s Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre in New Caledonia, the Jewish Museum in Berlin by Daniel Libeskind, and the ruins of Persepolis in my own country, Iran.

The Observing Space Universal Design Fall 2009 Auto CAD, 3D Max Proposal for a residential design for a disabled couple (auditory disability) and their two children (5 years old and 7 years old). The foot print area should be 200 to 300 square meter. Interior should have a lot of natural lighting from the top and from the sides and allow a variety of different and complex view points within the house and also the outside space, as the disabled couple should be able to have the maximum control of security over the space and over their children by visual means.

ECHO HOUSE The number of internal walls have been significantly reduced, making space more free flowing. Space so fluid that just by standing in the centre of the house, you can have an almost uninterrupted view of the rest of your home. DESIGN CONCEPT: As the couples were deaf, the interior space had to benefit from maximum amount of natural lighting for the couple to have control over the house and the children. To achieve this purpose, curtain walls all around the house along with the clerestory windows have been used to allow the highest amount of natural lighting and help with the visual communication. To add these two factors, Open space planning has been performed to maximize visual coverage .Parquet as flooring material used specifically in order to emphasis the vibration due to have more control over the space by utilizing other senses

TRANQUIL MALL The Park is enclosed between the office building and the shopping mall, acting as a friendly break-through passage between the two structures. It represents the concept of modern ecologically friendly technology that reduces a developmentâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s carbon footprint. The office building has been enhanced with these indoor gardens, which not only act as a relaxing and comforting view for the office employees and visitors in which they can enjoy their lunch breaks in, but add a sense of stability and creates a form of boarder that separates the office building from the shopping mall but yet in a very well integrated way. It also encourages kids to visit the park and live the experience of an outdoor free activities, that most of the new generation is lacking. As a result, I designed an enclosed house to protect the public from the hot sunny weather in Dubai.

DESIGN CONCEPT: As the name suggests, Tranquil Mall is all about relaxing and tranquility. The mall overlooks the man-made lake, which allows its customers to enjoy their time just by looking at the view. Tranquil mall focuses on creating a space missing in Dubai and it is primarily inspired by a wave schematic. The materials and colors used to design the mall are mostly natural and neutral. Curtain wall provides natural lighting for second floor and first floor. The tranquil mall has over 400 stores. Extensive variety of restaurants and cafes plus a huge foot court are also available. There are 10 entrances to the shopping mall, 4 of which are from the parking space, located on the basement, 2 entrance at the front of the mall, 3 at the back and one from the park. History of (Architecture and) Interior Design II Summer 2009 Felt-tip pen, Ink, White pen Compare and contrast the work of two designers: One representing the Arts and Crafts Movement, the other representing Art Nouveau.

CONCEPT: The relationship between the interior and exterior designs for each building is established. The quality of the interiors of each building is indicated by selecting key spaces. The key design features of the buildings are noted by producing vignettes and small interpretative sketches.

Interior of an Executive Jet Aircraft IFI Competition Fall 2009 Auto CAD, 3D Max, Photoshop Provide a luxury environment for a max of 10 passengers who travel for leisure and pleasure

DESIGN CONCEPT: The upper level provides active and passive facilities in terms of bedrooms, dining space, lounge and bar, beauty salon, video and game zone. Two single sleeping bedrooms and one master bedroom which can be converted into two single bays through a portable partition and facilitated with two private accesses, situated at the end of the plane. A “Chill-out” lounge in the lower level where relaxation and entertainment fuse into a special atmosphere. Soft leather for seating and lacquers finished timber surfaces add a tune of jazz or art deco feeling to the interiors.

INTERIOR OF AN EXECUTIVE JET AIRCRAFT Linking both level is a combined spiral stairs and pneumatic lift where facilitate a sense of usual linkage and continuity between the two levels. A suggestion of jazz age is implied through the music score graphic contend within the floor carpet design where in this helps direct guests/ passengers through and beyond the linked spaces. Special linkage is a key component of the design process which relies on recognizably organic mainly circular, thematic devices to define each major space yet facilitate continuity of energy flow between and through these spaces.
