We all collect things. Whether it’s your extensive collection of vintage ephemera or simply all of those plastic grocery bags that you have no use for but you stick under the sink anyway, in our modern society, collection is inevitable. Sometimes we hold on to these collections for many years but sometimes only for a few weeks or days. What happens when we’re done collecting? In America, the average amount of trash produced per day, per person is roughly 4.5 pounds. It seems as thought we are collecting more than we thought. From sea to garbage-filled sea, trash is everywhere. Via the magic of flickr, presented here is some of our nation’s best.
