On an excluded hilltop overlooking Lebanon’s shoreline, Nabay is a village in the Matn district, over 16 kilometers away from the capital, and still untouched by the prevailing unorganized and chaotic construction that has spread to its neighbored villages. The master plan of the land was already been done for years, but the construction impact to the landscape was overlooked. Fitting within the prescribed plot areas and road layout designed, the development of a specific master plan to this region presented an opportunity to avoid the uncontrolled sprawl of unorganized construction. In order to understand the real threat of the zoning laws and plot/road layout, an explicit study from plots, to simulated buildings was launched.
