SuperMoto Action From mixing the high speeds of road racing and the toughness of off-road racing, SuperMoto has developed its own specific character. Here we have a cool and appealing discipline with a high potential of development.

More than it seems SuperMoto is an interesting combination of 3 different motor-sports: road racing, off-road and speedway. The tracks are a combination of a sky section (dirt) and a slide section (tarmac) where bikes are ridden with a speedway-like style. The slide is the symbol of SuperMoto but there is much more action on track, like jumping and leaning the bikes until the edge. No matter what, SuperMoto is always riding on the edge. When the action on track is over, the show is all about the paddock. Fussily organised paddocks are the soul of the FIM SuperMoto World Championship; every team migrates to each venue with fully branded hospitality units, including workshops and living areas that can be used both by team members and sponsors. It is a sort of “show within the show” for the many spectators. Fans admire the Superiders who wear branded eye-catching leathers and spend most of their life in wonderful mobile structures. Local organisers always prepare extra paddock activities like freestyle exhibitions: racing and paddock life, at an FIM SuperMoto World Championship Grand Prix there is all the fans want. Uniting the former two classes into one single class, the challenge to become FIM SuperMoto World Champion will be even harder in 2011. Be ready for a lot more drama from the first to the last Grand Prix.

SuperMoto FIM Supermoto of Nations

The FIM SuperMoto of Nations: the world fights for the Francesco Zerbi Trophy Superiders are always seen as a sort of “one-man band”, which is actually what they are when they battle it out for the World Title, but the FIM SuperMoto of Nations completely changes their mentality. All countries have the chance to enter a SuperMoto challenge establishing the leading Nation in the discipline. Only one will bring home the prestigious Francesco Zerbi Trophy, which is worth the extreme challenge. Teams will consist of 3 Superiders. Rivalries coming from the FIM SuperMoto World Championship will disappear and countrymen will regroup for the glory of their home land. It is their only chance to combine the glory of being a top Superider and the honour of representing a country. This unique yearly challenge started in 2006 at the track of Bishopscourt (Northern Ireland) and the winning Nations so far are Italy, Germany and France (the latter being the defending Champion). In 2011 the FIM SuperMoto of Nations will be held in Alcañiz-Spain on the October 2 weekend.
