On a par with the functionality of large conventional power plants, our gridstabilizing power plant technology makes it possible to intelligently integrate renewable energy sources in existing power grids. This power generation unit focuses on standardization, optimization and grid integration and is therefore a product that perfectly matches our customer’s demands and the world’s energy needs.
3.0 MegaWattBlock® Made for Efficiency Our standardized modular design was formed with a simple goal in mind: to create a solar power plant, that delivers power at the lowest possible levelized costs of electricity. Designed with the focus on saving resources, a fast construction and reliable operation, the new unit stands for an optimum cost-benefit ratio. The new power plant unit operates at a system voltage of 1,500VDC thereby enabling further reductions to system and maintenance costs. In addition to system efficiency, the 3.0 MegaWattBlock also sets new standards in terms of reliability. The inverters of the Power Condition Unit achieve a staggering availability rate controlled and monitored by BELECTRIC‘s Realtime Management System. Low raw material consumption, industry-leading quality and extraordinary space efficiency make our new 3.0 MegaWattBlock to the global benchmark in solar power generation.

The 3.0 MegaWattBlock BELECTRIC is a power generation unit which consists of the most advanced components on the market, ensuring maximized space efficiency for minimized costs. The consistent unit is developed for the construction of solar power plants in 3.0 Megawatt steps. Intelligently combined materials ensure decades of reliable operation, even in extreme environmental conditions.
System Design Components of Success The block design includes innovations like the Triple Support substructure, specially designed for First Solar thin-film modules, which speeds up the construction process, increases the space efficiency and saves raw material. Another essential part of the system is the newly developed 1,500VDC technology, using the full bandwidth defined by EU’s Low Voltage Directive. This ensures lower costs in cabling, power conversion, and further leads to high conversion efficiencies. The advanced Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) with built-in reactive power control ability helps further to improve the stability of the local grid network. As against to traditional reactive power control devices, the PCU is designed to provide reactive power to the full extent of its rated power and to react dynamically to grid voltage deviations, thereby better utilizing existing grid infrastructure by day - and night: BELECTRIC‘s reactive power control doesn‘t need sunlight and works 24/7.
Module technology The 3.0 MegaWattBlock designed for thin-film module technology from First Solar, which ensures stable performance even at low light and especially under hot climate conditions. The self-cleaning frameless module design reduces the soiling. The production of the panels requires significantly fewer raw materials than traditional silicon-based technologies. So within the first year of operation, they generate more energy than was required to produce the modules.

Substructure The laser-precision linear alignment of the Triple Support substructure makes it possible for each photovoltaic module to be exposed equally to light. Superior space efficiency reduces the land consumption per kWh significantly. Standardized components from high-quality raw materials, manufactured by Jurchen Technology in heavy industrial-grade and series production, guarantee long durability and improved weather resistance.
Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) The specially developed PCU SKID System includes two ProSolar Inverters from GE Power Conversion with 1,500VDC system voltage and a transformer station. The inverter system is optimized for the use of thin-film module technologies and is characterized by the high level of system efficiency. The built-in PID protection device reduces the module degradation effect. A typical public grid shows many voltage deviations produced by different power loads. The dynamic reactive power capability of the PCU stabilizes the public grid voltage day and night. The PCU with its medium-voltage grid supply in outdoor construction enables optimum accessibility and easy maintenance of the system.
Power Plant Controller (PPC) The intelligent control unit developed by PADCON monitors the grid access points and regulates the electrical current flow of the solar power plant. Specially developed voltage sensors and software algorithms detect emerging grid requirements and react automatically. The Real-time Management system allows you to permanently monitor the plant. The web interface offers a huge variety of logging and analyzing tools. These tools deliver all important operational data of the power plant, to avoid system failures and to increase operating safety.

Continuous monitoring of each power unit is still advised to prevent avoidable yield losses. The long service life requires professional management: BSI takes care of all technical tasks worldwide. Around the clock, our team of experts currently monitors over 1.8 GWp of PV facilities, including those designed by BELECTRIC, as well as by other companies. The contractual service agreements are designed to provide flexible and optimum care for your plant. Our global service network with its dedicated staff supports predictable performance at all times. Remote power plant monitoring, regular inspections which include visual and function checks, cleaning services, on-site support in the event of a fault and detailed maintenance reports are integral parts of the continual monitoring and management we offer.
