pring is right around the corner and that means plenty of outside entertaining before the temperatures soar. Some new homes provide landscaping packages, at least for the front yard, but what about the backyard? If you’re starting out with a dirt canvas, here are some tips to make to make your yard a retreat that everyone will enjoy! • First, consider your space. Whether you have a small or large backyard, you need to brainstorm what you want to use your yard for. Will it be mainly for entertaining? A play area for your children? Do you have animals that would like to enjoy your outside space? You may want to section off areas for specific uses; a playground, a fire pit, a run for the dogs, or even a garden. Start from an architectural standpoint – the height of your fence, how large your patio will be, if you would like to hide an air conditioning unit – and work your way out from there. Always take into consideration your HOA limitations as well, they will work with you as long as you communicate with them what your vision is for your yard.
