Swimming Lesson Schedules and Cancellations: Every effort is made by the Recreation, Culture & Community Services Department to keep lessons scheduled as advertised. However, due to low registration numbers and wait-lists, we may have to cancel and/or combine some classes. We will make every effort to notify, in advance, if swimming lessons are cancelled. On occasion, cancellations may happen on short notice due to unexpected situations such as pool fouling, facility cancellations, power failure, or mechanical difficulties. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For weather cancellations, we will make the decision that day and cancellations will be announced on the radio as well as posted on the City website.

Swimming lessons follow progressive evaluations and recognize that everyone learns at a different pace. Please realize that your child may need to repeat a level to ensure that they have mastered all of the required skills. This will help to make your child a stronger more competent swimmer. If you have any questions, please contact 613-966-4632.
Notes for Parents/Guardians: Please ensure that your child has gone to the bathroom, and has had a shower before entering the pool. Please ensure that your child wears proper swimming diapers if necessary. If your child has been ill or nauseous, it is recommended that you do not send them to class. It is suggested that your child avoid eating at least one hour prior to swimming lessons. If there is a fouling of the pool, we are required to close the pool.

Join us for an hour of healthy exercise led by our certified water fitness instructors. Classes are for both men and women and you need not be a swimmer. These head-to-toe workouts are great on your joints and provide lots of fun in the pool as well as leave you feeling great! The class focuses on range of motion, flexibility and gentle exercises for muscle tone. Deep Water: This class is taught in the deep end of the Main Pool and is the best class for getting into shape. Stay afloat by using an aqua belt or noodle and feel your muscles burn! Diaper Fit: This parent and baby class is taught in the therapy pool where the water temperature is 92 degrees. This class is a great workout for parents trying to get into shape. Bring along your baby aged 4 months – 18 months and while they hang out in a dolphin - you do all the work! There is a strict one child per adult ratio
Aqua Fitness: This class is taught in our Main Pool and offers a full body workout. Equipment such as pool noodles and dumbbells may be used as well as a variety of intensity levels for all fitness levels. Get ready to dance, jump and splash your way to a healthy lifestyle. Aqua ZUMBA: Just Add Water And Shake. Splash your way into shape with an invigorating low-impact aquatic exercise. Known as the Zumba® “pool party,” the Aqua Zumba program gives new meaning to the idea of a refreshing workout. Therapy Fitness: This class is taught in our Therapy Pool where the water temperature is kept at 92 degrees.
