Message from President Hello Key Clubbers, Hope everyone is doing well in school. After three meetings, we have now registered over 100 members in Bellevue Key Club. A big thank you to all the members last week that volunteered after school to clean up trash. We already have over 60 hours of community service served to start off the year and a presentable high school. Because more than 80% of our members are Freshman, we a re brainstorming service opportunities to do in school so contact us if any of you have any ideas. The school activities fair is also coming up (Oct. 11th) and this is our chance to show our Key Club spirit and the difference we make in our communities! We want volunteers to advertise Key Club both lunches so if you’re interested, you know what to do. Also, if you haven’t noticed, I sent out an October newsletter email that contains all of our service opportunities and member updates. If you did not receive this email, that means you have not registered for Key Club so go on our website to register!

Another important reminder. Make sure to pay your $15 dues! This money does not go to waste. $12.50 goes towards Key Club international and PNW District KC. These funds are used to fund global projects such as The Eliminate Project in partnership with UNICEF to cure deadly diseases. 4

With these funds we also receive support from our Lieutenant Governor, District Executive Officers, and our friendly Kiwanians. No other club has these opportunities or the level of support we receive to give back to our community. Speaking of global projects, our signature service project, The Eliminate Project is back. Every 11 minutes a baby dies from tetanus. A three-dose vaccine is only $1.80. Last year the project was very successful so we have high expectations for this fundraiser. We will be giving out Trick or Treat for UNICEF boxes at our next meeting. Is your parent’s car dirty? Do they need a car wash..? Well don’t fear, Bellevue Key Club is selling car wash tickets!! For $7, your parents can get a car wash and we will receive $5.50 that will go back towards Key Club to fund other projects and diluting your DCON fee. You will also receive service hours! Pick up a voucher from a Key Club board member and start selling. It’s that simple! Thank you all for being a part of Bellevue Key Club. As a whole, we make a big difference in our homes, schools and communities. Each year is looking even better than the last. Make sure to invite your friends to join as well. With more members, we can make a bigger impact. Key Club is love, Key Club is life, Key Club is everything nice.

In love and Service, Andes Lee Bellevue Key Club President 2016-2017 5
