Year 12 HSC Trials Examination HSC Trials examinations are an integral step in preparing your child for the HSC commencing in October. Each examination will reflect the same time allocation and types of questions in the HSC exams. The College has been working with each student to prepare them for these exams as they make up 50% assessment component that goes toward the final HSC mark. Bellfield College has scheduled Trial exams for Week 5 and Week 6 of Term 3. STUDENTS WILL: • • • • • • • •
Sign in at the senior administration office. Complete the student/driver transport conditions form if driving to school and leave their car keys at the senior administration office for the duration of their time at school. Student Passenger form must be completed for arrangements to travel as a passenger with a student driver. Driver form needs to be received no later than Wednesday 4th August 2021. Arrive to school 20 mins before the examination start time. Remain in the examination room for the entire exam and may not leave the exam room early. Wear full school uniform, including blazer in order to sit the exam. Not take mobile phones into the exam room. Checks will be conducted by Executive staff.

Students who are not scheduled for an exam are to use this day to study at home Parents are responsible for their child's travel to and from the college during examination periods. Students who remain at school must stay in the school library and cannot leave school grounds.

COVID Safe Measures On arrival to school students must enter via the school main office and sign in via the NSW QR code. Bellfield College will ensure that HSC students and staff are safeguarded and supported whilst on site through strict adherence to the college COVID safe measures including; • • • • • • • • • • • • • •
No staff, visitor or student permitted on site if unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home and should not return to school until they have received a negative test result and are symptom free. Any staff, visitor or student who becomes unwell on site will be isolated and advised to go home, get tested and not return until they have a negative test result and are symptom free. Compression staff and students MUST sign in Via QR code and (biometrics staff only). Whilst on school site, masks or face coverings are required in all indoor settings by staff and compression students. All non-essential visitors are not permitted on site. Canteen/Uniform shops closed. Compression students if travelling by car are NOT permitted to carpool (only students from same family are permitted). Compression students being dropped off must exit vehicle at carline, no parent/carer to exit the vehicle. Whilst on site, compression students and staff MUST adhere to 1.5metre physical distancing from one another in all spaces. Large open spaces utilised for lesson delivery which are well ventilated (A/C, windows open, doors open) No physical greeting permitted, MUST utilise non-physical greeting (foot taps, elbow taps). All locations within the college have hand sanitiser, all students and staff MUST utilise hand sanitiser as they enter any room or location within the college. Bathrooms and college spaces are regularly cleaned and sanitised by cleaners, all bathrooms are stocked with detergent and paper towels. No sharing of food between students or staff whilst on site.

Examination Conditions All students must check the examination timetable carefully. No consideration can be given to students who arrive late for an examination or who miss an examination due to poor organisation. Students are to follow all instructions given regarding examination times and location, report to the location at least ten minutes before the examination starts and wait for instructions about entry to the examination room. Students are to remain in the examination room until time has expired for the examination, all papers have been collected, and the examination supervisor dismisses students from the examination room. Students must check with their teachers in advance to ensure they take the necessary equipment to each examination. Only equipment necessary for the examination is permitted. Borrowing is not permitted during examinations. Students must NOT: o o o o o o o o
communicate verbally or non-verbally with other students; take a programmable watch into the examination room; speak to any person other than a supervisor after entering the examination room; take any electronic device into the examination, unless approved; behave in any way likely to disturb the work of any other student or upset the conduct of the examination; take into the examination room, or refer to during the examination, any books or notes, any paper, or any equipment other than the equipment approved for the specific examination; take any food or drinks (other than water) into the examination room, unless you have been granted special provisions. Water in a clear bottle only may be taken into the examination room. Only equipment necessary for the examination are to be placed on the examination desk. Pencil cases and other equipment must be placed on the floor under your chair. You must remove your watch and place it in clear view on the examination desk.
Mobile phones must be handed in before the morning bell at 8.30am. Students’ bags placed at the front of the room. Students are not permitted to leave the examination room to use the bathroom. Exceptions may be made ONLY in the case of pre-existing medical conditions. Illness and Misadventure (refer to page 6 of the Assessment and Reporting Procedures) If a student is to miss an examination due to illness or misadventure, the school is to be advised before the examination is held. Parents should ring the school on 02 9606 2666 and leave a message for the relevant Head of Department. Students who miss an examination due to illness, misadventure or absence from school must see the appropriate Head of Department when they return to school. Upon acceptance of a document of explanation (Illness & Misadventure form and a letter from home), Please refer to the Stage 6 Assessment and Reporting information communicated in Week 1 of Term. Please refer to page 6 in your Assessment and Reporting Procedures “Absent for Assessment Task/Examination” Absent for an assessment task / Examination (refer to page 6 of the Assessment and Reporting Procedures) ● See their teacher or Head of Department on the first day they return back to school and hand in a completed illness / misadventure form (forms are attached in this book or can be collected from the Head of Department). Reasons for the absence must be stated, verified by a doctor, and have a medical certificate attached to the form. Provisions may be made in the case of providing medical documentation. Failure to complete an assessment task – Zero mark (refer to page 5 of the Assessment and Reporting Procedures) ● Students who complete assessment tasks or study for assessment tasks during other classes on the day will receive a zero mark.
