Monday, October 04, 2021 Dear Parents, Asalaamu Alaykum, It is with great gratitude to Allah (swt) that we thank all parents, students and staff for their resilience during this period of lockdown and remote learning. Like our beloved Imams (a.s) our school community has been able to draw from their virtues of resilience, fortitude and patience that have helped us navigate through these uncertain times. We extend a very big congratulations to all of our stage 6 compression students who have completed their HSC course and are preparing to sit their exams in November. We wish them all the very best and pray for their success. A very big congratulations is also due to our year 12 students who have received early offers, which is currently 50% of our year 12 student cohort! Early offers use a criteria that extends beyond an academic score as universities seek well rounded global citizens who have broad experiences in leadership, sport, community and the Arts. The offers received so far are a testament to the effort made in our senior school to plan programs that support and prepare our students for the world beyond school. We are writing to share a few updates that we hope will assist with the smooth transition into term 4 and the closing of the 2021 academic year. Return to School and Student Attendance: Although recent communication from the State Government has proposed a staggered return to school, all students will continue to attend classes remotely from the first day of term 4 (Tuesday 5th October). There have been some updates to student timetables, which can be accessed through the school portal. The College is currently located in an LGA of concern, thus we are still awaiting further information from the state Government about what this means for our students returning to campus. Our school executive is preparing for all scenarios and will communicate any new options as they become available. The College has always valued feedback from parents and a short survey will be shared later in the week to give parents an opportunity to share their preference for return to school options, which we will use to assist our planning. Term Dates for term 4 2021 are Tuesday 5th October to Wednesday 15th December. As holiday travel emerges back into our lives, we would like to remind families of the College’s travel policy, which allows for a maximum of 2 weeks approved leave in any one school year. For families wishing to travel this year, students MUST apply for leave if they travel before 1st December 2021. For families wishing to travel in the 2022 school year, please refer to our term dates below to assist with your planning. Students who will be absent at the beginning of term 1, 2022 will need to apply for leave before the end of this term. 2022 Term Dates: Term 1 Term 2 Term 3 Term 4

Monday 31st January to Wednesday 4th May to Monday 18th July to Monday 10th October to

Thursday 14th April Friday 1st July Friday 23rd September Friday 9th December

2020 School & Bus Fees: The College will be issuing refunds for unused bus fees and levies which will be credited to family accounts and will reduce the total amount on invoices due. Parents will be receiving updated statements over the coming weeks. For parents who have already paid their fees in full, there is an option for either a cash refund or a credit to your 2022 school fees. All 2021 school and bus fees are due by the end of term 4. Please make arrangements to have these fees paid in full. Payments can be made by credit card or by directly depositing funds into any nab branch (bsb: 082 057 Account no: 857 900 972). Please ensure that the full name of your eldest child is used as a reference. Due to Covid restrictions, the College will not be accepting any cash payments on the school site. School Uniforms: Given the current restrictions and the uncertainty of the return to school plan, the school uniform shop will remain closed to parents attending on site for uniform purchases. If students return to school in term 4, they will be required to be dressed in full summer school uniform. Uniforms required can be found on our website http://www.bellfield.nsw.edu.au/uniforms/ and can be purchased over the phone and posted home. IHSAN (Illuminations / Qur’an): The Ihsan team are busy preparing an exciting illuminations program for our students in term 4. We encourage all parents to be diligent with supporting their children during the term by ensuring that they keep up prayers at the appointed times and reinforce healthy social and spiritual habits introduced at school. School Reports / parent teacher interviews: Thank you to all parents who attended parent teacher meetings in June (and again in September for senior school). All of our teachers were grateful for having the opportunity to meet with you and your attendance demonstrated your commitment to your child/ren and their education. This term, the interviews will be held on Monday 6th December and will more than likely be online. Attendance to parent teacher interviews is a mandatory requirement and school reports will only be issued to parents who attend. Each head of school will communicate the booking process with you closer to the date. On behalf of our College Board and staff, we welcome you to term 4 and pray that we all finish the term with good health, safety and peace.

Warm regards,

Sister Zainab Beydoun (Board Member)
