Upcoming Events
Week 3 Prophet’s Birthday Celebration Week
Assalamu Alaykum Dear parents and carers I am pleased to announce that the College Executive Team has worked hard to develop a comprehensive and safe return to school plan (informed by parent, teacher and student feedback) which will be shared with families today. While the pandemic has affected everybody differently, there are some clear learnings and common themes emerging from NSW and around the world including the need for students to return to school as soon as it is safe for them to do so, because nothing can replace face-to-face learning with an expert teacher. Being at school with their teachers and peers is also vital for student wellbeing as well as social and emotional development. In Greater Sydney the NSW Health advice is that it is safest for students to return in stages and by cohorts, rather than all at once. Students in Early Stage One and Stage One (K-2) are recommended to return first given the importance of developing their foundational learning in the early years and their disrupted experience to date. Aligned to government health advice and to provide the safest learning environment as possible for all our students, minimise opportunities for transmission and enable the most effective contact tracing and containment measures in the event of a COVID-19 case, Bellfield College Junior School has adopted a cohort model.

The principles of the student cohorting model are to: - minimise unnecessary physical interaction between students on school grounds - ensure that students learn and play only with those in their cohort, wherever possible - minimise opportunities for transmission and enhance contact tracing -
minimise the potential for widespread infection across the school and wider school community
Over the coming week, please ensure you read and understand all information shared by the College carefully. We all have our role to play in keeping the Bellfield College community safe and minimising any potential risk of transmission. Have a safe and restful weekend. Have a lovely weekend. Warm regards Miss Harold

Dear Junior School Parents,
It has been lovely to see our students settled back in the expectations of remote learning. I have seen many smiling faces online and I am looking forward to seeing them back on site when possible. Several teachers have proudly shared student work samples with me over the past week which has been delightful and has made me very happy! Well done Bellfield students. Our Junior School staff love learning and are always developing their professional and practical teaching skills, in order to better understand the needs of their students. In preparation for students returning to school, we are especially mindful of the socialemotional needs the children may have. All staff will be undertaking professional development in this area and will be planning purposeful activities for when our students are back together to assist with settling, communication, friendships, listening and focus. This wheel shows the 5 areas of Social/Emotional Learning which the Junior School will be focussing on as we welcome our students back to school throughout Term 4. Please find attached the Term 4 overviews for each grade. These provide a summary of what your child will be learning about in each Key Learning Area. If you have any questions about the Overviews, please don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
Kind regards, Mrs Natalie Stevenson

QURAN IN YEAR 2 AND YEAR 4 Assalamu Alaykum, Dear Parents, Welcome to Term 4 2021. I pray you are healthy, safe, and happy Inshallah. As we commence Term 4 we enter the Islamic month of Rabiul Awal. In this month we celebrate the Auspicious Birth of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (sawas). There will be activities for our students to engage in and to learn more about our Prophet Inshallah. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our families and the Muslim Ummah on this auspicious occasion. Term 3 was a challenging term for us all, however our students worked hard and engaged well in online sessions. Your children underwent assessments towards the end of the term. Assessments were conducted in class, small groups and through individual google meet times. Overall, most student received pleasing results. During Term 3 we also undertook some project-based learning tasks. One project was based on the Islamic event of Ashura, and the second task was based on the Junior School event celebrating the 100 days of learning. YEAR 2
2M / 2A
Mr Albayati and I are extremely proud of the efforts made from every student in year 2 from the beginning of the year. Since starting online in Term 3, students strived to work hard and complete every task to the best of their ability. They have become proficient at using online applications and tools to show their understanding of the content across all learning areas. Although we have definitely missed being in the classroom with our students, we would like to showcase all the wonderful learning that has occurred during remote learning. We would like to thank all parents and caregivers for their ongoing support with their child’s learning during this time. We understand how challenging this is and it would not have been possible without your support. Thank you, Miss Akram & Mr Albayati.
