K-2 Monday to Friday

Year 3 Monday

Year 4 Tuesday

Assalamu Alaykum Dearest parents and carers Welcome back! Can you believe we are nearly half way through Term 4?! Our students breathed fresh air back into Bellfield College Junior School this week when they returned to campus. It has been incredibly heartwarming to see and hear our students each day. Many thanks to all parents and carers for keeping our community safe and getting your child back to school on their designated days. College leadership will be meeting next week to review and hopefully update our plan. More communication will follow next week. As of today, all parent communication will be sent via the Sentral parent portal, with only urgent messages going out on WhatsApp. Please ensure you have the Sentral Parent Portal operational on your device so you can stay in touch with us. I have included information about installing the portal app in this week's newsletter. Lastly, I look forward to meeting with all of our 2022 Kindergarten students and their parents online on the 2nd and 9th November for our Kindergarten Information Sessions. Please make sure you have Google Meets installed on your device if you are attending one of the sessions. As always, have a safe and restful weekend.

Dear Junior School Families, It has been so delightful to have our staff and students back on campus throughout the week. The classrooms and playgrounds are once again filled with happy chatter, engaged students and lots and lots of smiles!

No doubt your child is tired after re-establishing school routines such as getting up early, travel, wearing uniforms, being focused in class and generally being more active. Please take some time over the next few weeks to ease gently back into pre-lockdown life. This is a period of adjustment for us all, and we all need an extra measure of patience, gentleness and kindness. Do you have any library books or readers at home? The College library is missing a lot of books which have been borrowed by students. If your child has any overdue books, they will be issued with an OVERDUE NOTICE next week. Please assist your child to return all College books to school asap. Parents will be charged the cost of replacing books to fee accounts if they are still missing. I pray that your weekend is full of rest and connection, Kind regards, Mrs Natalie Stevenson

YEAR 4’S OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE DURING ONLINE LEARNING!

We hope everyone is enjoying the spring months with plenty of sun around to get us all up and active, enjoying the great outdoors. It was great to welcome the Year 4’s back in the classroom this week on Tuesday. The students were really excited to see their friends and teachers and to be back in their original learning environment.

We have continued developing our skills across all our learning areas. In English, we are learning about a wordless picture book called ‘Window’ by Jeannie Baker where students have learnt to interpret and comprehend the story using visual features. We have also just finished watching the film WALL-E, and it was interesting to see that the students understood the story and the theme created by the robot without the use of words.

In Visual Arts we have created some fabulous artwork making collages out of natural materials found around the home. After watching the tutorial from the book ‘Window’ students got creative and explored different ways in creating their own collage. Students had a wonderful time creating their artworks from simple household items including paper, grass, feathers, cotton etc.

Amongst other creative learning, students have been enjoying exploring a lot of new online technology in most of their lessons. In Maths students were really engaged during online games and Kahoot. They competed with each other to get into the top five positions. Weekly topic assessments on Easel made it easier to monitor student progress. Students also enjoyed making posters on Canvas and comic strips on Storyboard in English.

Year 4 teachers would like to thank all the parents for supporting their children during their online learning.

Kind Regards, Mrs Ali, Ms Greenup and Mr O’Leary.

QURAN YEAR 1 AND 3 Assalamu Alaykoum Dear parents and students, Alhamdulilah with the grace of Allah we are pleased to be back to school teaching students in the classrooms again. In term four we are learning surat Al-Takweer in Year 3. Please make sure you practise with your child in order to memorise the surat. In Year 3 we have learned the rule of sukkon and now the rule of shadda and Leen letters. All students received their Quran reading book and they need to bring it to school when on site. For Year 1 we are learning surat Al-Inshirah and the arabic alphabet with different sounds (Fatha, Kasra and Damma). I praise our wonderful parents for the effort they have put in towards their child’s learning. Thank you so much for all your help and support. God bless you all.
