COVID-19 HSC Exam Preparation The information below will assist you in preparing and co-operating with the COVID safe arrangements in place for the 2021 HSC written examinations. Students who display even mild flu-like symptoms will be asked to leave immediately and not return until they have a negative COVID-19 test and are symptom free. A guideline of flu like symptoms can be found on the NSW Health website; https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid19/Pages/frequently-asked-questions.aspx#1-4 If a student has a clinical history/known illness that may appear like COVID-19 symptoms they should arrange an appointment with their doctor/GP now. The GP can provide written assurance – e.g. symptoms the student presents on a normal basis. Fast track COVID-19 test results HSC students can fast-track their COVID-19 test results. To do this you must: • • • • •

say you are a HSC student when taking a test ensure the nurse or doctor doing the test marks your referral 'urgent — HSC’ self-isolate until a negative result is received show your school the negative result call the contact number provided by the clinic if results are not received within 36 hours. HSC Exam Day Procedures

The following measures have been put in place to keep students safe on the day of each of the examinations. • • • •

Park along car drop off/pick up zone within school grounds only Students must not attend the exam if they are unwell. Supporting medical evidence/documentation will be required Students will be asked upon arrival if they have any flu-like symptoms or if they should be in self-isolation under direction by NSW Health Students displaying flu-like symptoms or who advise they are unwell will be asked to leave the school and arrange to have a COVID-19 test Minimising the risk of transmission

Students should arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to the exam and report directly to the sanitising station, then make their way to the designated exam room for screening and signin. Students should not mingle in large groups prior to, or after the exam. Students should wash their hands or use hand sanitiser prior to commencing the exam. Maintain good personal hygiene practices during the exam including covering your cough or sneeze through coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue, disposing of tissues at the end of the exam. Avoid shaking hands or hugging other students on exam days.

Illness/misadventure The College will assist students with the submission of illness/misadventure process in the event that you have been advised to; • • •

You are unwell and are required to have a COVID-19 test You should be in self-isolation under direction by NSW Health Students displaying flu-like symptoms or who advise they are unwell will be asked to leave the school

Medical documentation will be required to support your claim of illness/misadventure. You should attend every examination. The Illness/Misadventure program is designed to support students who perform below their expectations because of illness or misadventure. If you do not attend an examination and your Illness/Misadventure application is unsuccessful, you will not receive a result in that course. This could mean that you are ineligible for the award of the HSC. Each application is considered by up to five panel members to ensure that every case is determined daily and consistently. Complex matters may be referred to an independent medical expert for advice. COVID 19 Special Provisions – Written Exams The COVID-19 Special Consideration Program is available to recognise where COVID-19 has caused substantial disruption or disadvantage to HSC students. Bellfield College will be making a group application due to being in one of the 12 LGA’s of concern.
