Bellfield College Swimming Carnival 2021 Bellfield College swimming carnival will be held on Thursday 4th March. The carnival gives the students the opportunity to compete in a friendly, accepting and encouraging aquatic environment. The students can participate in a variety of traditional swimming races as well as novelty events. The focus for the day is for the students to increase their confidence in the water environment and participate in positive competition. Throughout the day, students will need to adhere to COVID protocols set by the College and swimming centre. The Bellfield College Swimming Carnival forms part of the PDHPE and sport curriculum. The College recognises that some students may not be at a swimming level where they feel confident to participate at a competitive level, however, the attendance of all students is compulsory. Any absences will require a doctor’s certificate to be forwarded to the College. The carnival will be held at: The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre, 21 The Pkwy Bradbury All students are required to wear their: FULL SPORTS UNIFORM on this day including 2-piece white scarf as previously communicated to our female students. They may wear a coloured t-shirt to support their sports colour group. Students should wear appropriate Islamic swimwear under their uniform and please remember to bring a towel. Boys are required to wear knee length shorts and rash shirt and Girls are required to wear a Burkini (Islamic swimwear) including a 2-piece cotton or lycra head scarf. Swimming caps and goggles are optional. Under no circumstances are students allowed to be driven to the venue, dropped off at the venue, or picked up from the venue. Student drivers will park their car on college grounds as usual and travel via school operated buses to the venue.
COVID Safety reminder points o Adults must insure no physical contact. Avoid hand shaking. The handshake can be replaced with an elbow touch. o Please stay 1.5m apart o Parents are reminded they must not attend if they are unwell or have even the mildest of symptoms. o Parents must maintain physical distancing, good personal hygiene practices and comply with the published procedures and guidelines at all times.
