Copper Center is found at the confluence of the Copper and Klutina Rivers. It is one of the oldest white communities in Alaska’s Interior. Andrew Holman, was the leader of a group of Scandinavians who founded Copper Center. In 1898, Holman established a townsite and temporary tent hotel for prospectors traveling to the Klondike Gold Rush over the Valdez Eagle Trail.

Jene Rene Studio Gallery proudly displays the works of artist Jean Rene, who was captivated by the beauty of the land and the people when she arrived in Alaska in 1973. Through oils and watercolor, she explores the Alaskan world she has become so much a part of. Located next to the Post Office.

George Ashby Memorial Museum offers the visitor a look at the varied past of the Copper River Valley. Exhibits include items from the Kennecott Copper Mine and Native cultural history. King For A Day Charters takes you to the best fishing spots on the Klutina River. Half day and full days charters fishing for king and red salmon.
