Fall is finally here, so we should start to feel cool breezes, we will watch as the leaves start to change color, and we can experience all of the fun that comes along with fall from festivals, to apple and pumpkin picking, to Halloween decorations to picking out costumes for trick-or-treating.

While Halloween to most of us means costumes, trick-or-treating with friends, and lots of candy, it’s always important to stay safe while having fun. When trick-or-treating, remember to take flashlights, stay with adults, walk on sidewalks, and visit well-lit houses. Before you go out, have dinner or a snack so that you don’t snack on candy from your bags until you get home and your parents can inspect them. It’s also important to make sure your costume accessories are short, soft and flexible and that you wear safe and comfortable shoes. Remember to throw away candy that looks suspicious and avoid eating homemade treats made by strangers. Always walk – don’t run – from house to house...and have lots of fun!
