Unlike most rollerbladers out there, i am lucky enough to see behind the scenes at a lot of events, from the first planning stages right up untill the final moment. i dont think people out there truly understand how much work goes into an event like this, the constant headaches and 70+ hour weeks arent for everybody, me included, but for people like chaz, who want nothing but to push rollerblading as far as it can go, its more than worth it. If you even briefly logged on to one of the many rollerblading forums out there prior to the event, no doubt you came across a post about the invitational, people talked, argued and hated on everything from the change of location, to who had confirmed on the rider list. but it was here that chaz upped the professionalism another notch with his press release, assuring that all the changes were for the good of the event and for the right reasons.
