Bendigo Theatre Company Presents
Sleeping Beauty The Pantomime
Once upon a time...
Be transported away to a faraway land full of Princes and Princesses, Fairy Godmothers and Dragons, Magic and Love. This timeless tale has delighted audiences for generations, but never quite like this. With plenty of jokes, slapstick and pantomime tradition, this show will surely have you rolling on the ground laughing!
From The Production Manager Welcome to Bendigo Theatre Company’s performance of “Sleeping Beauty – The Pantomime”. The Cast have spent many hours rehearsing, singing, learning dance steps, trying on costumes, teasing their hair and applying their make up. The Crew have also been busy with set construction and painting, collecting props, lighting and audio for the stage It is so nice to see regulars who audition each year for the panto but lovely to see so much new talent both on stage and behind the scenes. I would like to send out a BIG thank you to all that have been involved in this production because without all of you none of this would happen and a special thanks to Girton for the use of the venue for rehearsals and performances. - Stania Tresize
From The Production Team When putting together a pantomime, there is one word that ties everything together: Fun! Fun for the actors, fun for the crew and most importantly, fun for the audience! That is what we set out to achieve with Sleeping Beauty. We took a classic story, added some high-jinks and shenanigans, and ended up with two hours of ridiculousness and fun for the whole family. We hope you enjoy Sleeping Beauty: The Pantomime. When putting on a community production, there is always an army of people doing incredible work behind the scenes. Their work is often thankless, and with such an incredible team we couldn’t let them go unnoticed. First of all, thank you to Stania and the rest of the BTC Committee for putting your faith in us. This is an opportunity we won’t forget. Thanks to Ken and the Wednesday crew for your tireless work on putting this intricate set together, your expertise and endless experience are always so helpful when bringing a show to life. To Samantha, our amazingly talented scenic artist, your designs are always superb and your time spent on the sets is invaluable. Ian and Lachlan, with your fantastic lighting and Mel, Ralph and Jared, for the gorgeous sound, your technical knowledge is second to none. Anne, for your astonishing prop work and Barb for helping us with the intricacies of wheel-spinning, thank you. To Loz, Liz, Stania, Mo and Louise, your work with the costumes is amazing as always. A huge thank you to Karin Cantwell for the assistance with vocal coaching. Giving her time to rehearsals and blessing us with her beautiful musical talent. And finally, to you. Thank you for supporting local theatre and supporting us all in pursuing a passion we love dearly. Bevan, Charlee, Kelsey and Seamus.
