By applying for the Benedetti Foundation Ambassador Training Programme, you will be joining an energetic and positive family environment that is serious about creating a greater and more diverse future for the Arts. The Benedetti Foundation unites those who believe music is integral to a great education. We do this through uncovering and sharing its best practices whilst demonstrating a reenergised vision for the future. We put on transformative orchestral and musicianship workshops for young people, students, teachers, and adults that showcase what Music Education at its best can look and feel like. ABOUT THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

The Benedetti Foundation Ambassador Programme is an annual training scheme for conservatoire and university students dedicated to: developing your practical and instrumental teaching skills growing your love for performance gaining greater knowledge, understanding and insight into all areas of our music and education communities There are two branches of the Ambassador Programme: Instrumental Ambassadors and Teaching Ambassadors. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to: Rehearse, prepare and perform alongside likeminded players and prominent musicians Prepare and present workshops under the guidance of trailblazing creative leaders Make new contacts within the music and education professions Attend inspirational presentations by leaders in education and industry Develop confidence and leadership in your performance and teaching skills Peer learning and support is a crucial part of this programme. All new Ambassadors are mentored by an experienced Lead Ambassador. Teaching Ambassadors are mentored by members of the Foundation’s Musicianship Team. Throughout the programme, you will meet very regularly in small mentor groups. MEETING IN PERSON In 2022, all Ambassadors will come together for several in-person days. During these days, you will have the opportunity to meet and learn from professional musicians and pioneering leaders in the world to address fundamental questions of our time. How do we create and action a new vision whilst holding onto our traditions? How do we revolutionise our teaching and find a place for your voice in the industry? If you are an engaged, dedicated musician and educator with a strong interest in inspiring and communicating with young musicians of all ages and abilities, we would be delighted to hear from you.
APPLICATION INFORMATION WHO CAN APPLY?
Undergraduate and postgraduate students – all instruments / vocalists Undergraduate and postgraduate music teacher trainees or primary teacher trainees who are musicians Recent graduates (you should have graduated within the past 2 years) 18–30-year-olds who may have taken a different educational route e.g. apprenticeship, work based teacher training
There are opportunities for all instrumentalists, vocalists, those interested in developing their skills in creative production, general musicianship, methods such as Kodaly and classroom-based teaching. We welcome applications from those living outside the UK. We work with approximately 65 Instrumental and 35 Teaching Ambassadors each year. We are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive Ambassador team. We encourage applications from all sections of the community and are committed to enabling people from a diverse range of backgrounds to build careers in arts and education. We welcome applicants who are disabled or have long-term health conditions. Every application is considered individually and with great care. APPLICATION PROCESS You may apply for either programme. Please read through the requirements below carefully and submit only one application. At the discretion of the Foundation Directors’, we may offer you place on the alternative programme.

INSTRUMENTAL AMBASSADOR APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Round 1 Please complete this application form. You will need to upload to the form: A 3-minute (maximum) video introducing yourself and sharing your reasons for applying for the role of Instrumental Ambassador. Please add a YouTube/Dropbox link to your application AND A letter (maximum 1 A4 page) detailing your experiences and thoughts on any of the following topics: The current state of music education (please choose the nation you feel most comfortable talking about) The importance of engaging young people with music and the arts The relationship between the performing and educating worlds AND A 10-minute (maximum) performance of you playing any solo repertoire that you feel shows you off the best. This can be with piano/other collaborative partner. Please add the YouTube link to your application form (your selection can be an extract of a longer piece) Round 2 A 5-minute (maximum) teaching video, teaching us a warm up activity for young musicians – this can either be musicianship based or instrument based. Further information will be sent to successful applicants
TEACHING AMBASSDOR APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Round 1 Please complete this application form. You will need to upload to the form: A 3-minute (maximum) video introducing yourself and sharing your reasons for applying for the role of Teaching Ambassador. Please add a YouTube/Dropbox link to your application AND A letter (maximum 1 A4 page) detailing your experiences and thoughts on any of the following topics: The current state of music education (please choose the nation you feel most comfortable talking about) The importance of engaging young people with music and the arts The relationship between the performing and educating worlds AND A 5-minute (maximum) video teaching us a general musicianship concept. This can be anything you wish. We are looking for originality and creativity in your teaching. Please add a YouTube/Dropbox link to your application Round 2 A 5-minute (maximum) performance of you playing any solo repertoire that you feel shows you off the best. This can be with piano/other collaborative partner AND A 5-minute (maximum) teaching video focused on teaching either a technical point on your instrument or a general musicianship topic. Round 1: 9am UK Time on Thursday 9 December Successful applicants in Round 1 will hear by Wednesday 22 December Round 2: 9am UK Time on Friday 7 January Successful applications in Round 2 will hear by Wednesday 26 January We anticipate the 2022 Ambassador Training Programme will begin officially on Monday 7 February 2022. All applicants who are successful in Round 1 will be sent the outline schedule of the Ambassador year to help you plan ahead should you be offered a place.
