13th Metro Grading In a top of the table clash, Forrest Hill Barcelona played Onehunga Sports last Sunday in the 13th Grade Metro Grading rounds.
Onehunga Sports went into the game without having conceded a goal all season, having themselves scored 32 goals. Onehunga Sports are seen as a powerhouse of Junior Football and through their tie up with the Wellington Phoenix Soccer Schools they attract a lot of talented players to their Club.
The Team List ....
FHM Barcelona are coached by Luca Vasori, the Club’s Boys and Youth Development Manager. Luca has had the team since 9th Grade. The team has developed, during that time, into a very competitive unit.

of Talking Points
There were plenty of talking points as round one of the Chatham Cup took place around New Zealand last weekend. In the Northern Region, Bucklands Beach caused a major upset in knocking out Lotto NRFL opposition Onehunga Mangere United 3-1 with Liam Thompson bagging a 3. Nick hat-trick. Onehunga Mangere slipped to Smith a fourth defeat this season but it was their first against non-league opposition. 4. Jonathan Lewis
Alexgoals Luiten Mount Albert-Ponsonby scored5.more in one Chatham Cup game than they’ve 6. managed Olly Ceciin seven Lotto NRFL Division One games this season (five) Harry Lissington when they trounced Warkworth7.7-0. 8. Cory Hitchen
Meanwhile, Fencibles United hosted Claudelands Rovers in Chris Bryson fine autumn conditions and the9. home side managed to recover from a 0-1 deficit to notch a convincing 3-1 win to 10. Marcel Nolde advance to the next round. The battle between the two 11. Jaryd Grayother twice sides is far from over this year as they face each more this season in the Lotto12. NRFL Second Division on Andrew Cowell June 4 (Hamilton) and August 27 (Auckland).
Penalties were required to separate Hibiscus Coast and Papatoetoe AFC as it was 2-2 after extra-time. Hibiscus Coast handled the pressure better as they won 4-2 from the spot. It was also 2-2 after extra time between Albany United and Te Atatu before the visitors defeated the hosts at Rosedale Park 3-1 on penalties in a tight affair. Oratia United ran riot as they defeated Lynn-Avon United 5-1 with Mark Withers notching four in a memorable round one fixture for the home side at Parrs Park. Otumoetai and Waitakere City could not be separated after full time at 1-1, before Waitakere City bolted clear through goals from Jordan Hearn, Keegan Linderboom and Futsal Whites international Dylan Manickum (2) to win in style in extra-time. The drama continued on Sunday with another four matches, three of which took place in the Northern Region. Two of them were thrillers, Auckland Sunday Football Association side Auckland Wanderers nearly coming back from a two-nil halftime deficit but eventually falling 3-2 to Lotto NRFL Division One side Papakura City while penalties were needed to separate fellow Sunday leaguers Internationale and Royal NZ Navy. George Blackmore had scored twice for Navy on the way to a 3-3 tie after extra-time but his efforts were ultimately in vain as Internationale went on to triumph 7-6 on penalties.
13. Ed Sillars Waitemata were comfortable 5-1 winners away to 14. Alan Llunes Unimount Bohemian Celtic. Two former Premiership 15. Women’s Premiers Captain
Meet Hannah Captain of the Forrest Hill Premier women’s team is Hannah Carlsen and whilst it would seem Hannah has been around the football scene for a long time she is still only 20 years of age. Educated at Westlake Girls High School, Hannah played in the 2010 under 17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago as a 14 year old and again in 2012 where she was Captain of the young football ferns at under 17 World Cup in Azerbaijan. Following that tournament Hannah was part of the wider Ferns training squad for the Olympics.
not prevent Hannah from being selected for the Under 20 world Cup in 2014 in Canada but unfortunately it did prevent Hannah from taking part in that tournament
In 2013 Hannah suffered a serious concussion injury and as a result had to take a break from football. For a young player this was a devastating injury and her battle to get back to playing the game she loves is testimony to her strength of character and perseverance. Concussion did
Hannah has started off this season extremely well and has been a huge positive influence within the team and definitely still has a desire to play for the Football Ferns. There is no doubt on the form she has displayed this season Hannah Carlsen is good enough.
