The draws for each competition – the most prestigious prizes on offer in domestic winter football – were conducted at New Zealand Football headquarters this afternoon and resulted in several stand-out fixtures being produced.

The Team List ....

In the Chatham Cup, two of the four Auckland-based sides still in the hat – Forrest Hill-Milford United and Birkenhead United – were drawn to face each other while North Wellington will travel to the City of Sails for a meeting with Three Kings United. Completing a clean sweep of home fixtures for the Auckland teams, Waitakere City will host Dunedin’s Caversham while Christchurch’s Cashmere Technical and Wellington’s Miramar Rangers do battle in the other quarter-final.

favours as the Aucklanders aim to make their first final since 2009. Caversham face the lengthiest trip in heading most of the way up the country to meet Waitakere and it looms as a real banana skin for the southerners. As leaders of the Football South Premier League with a perfect record, they will be expected to beat their NRFL Division One opponents but will come up against some top quality in the likes of former All White Jake Butler and Futsal Whites international Dylan Manickum, who scored a hat-trick in the previous round. The Waitakere ranks could also include another player with international experience in ex-All White and former Auckland City goalkeeper Ross Nicholson, recently coaxed out of retirement.

The NRFL Premier Reserve League is a great place to test young talent. Women’s Premiers

Meet Emily Couchman Emily is the current first team women’s keeper and is in her fourth year at Forrest Hill; in fact Emily is one of the longest serving players at the Club, joining Forrest Hill in 2013, the year that saw the resurrection of women’s football at Forrest Hill Milford.

Emily came to the Club as a raw 14 year old and was thrown in the deep end as Reserves keeper. The player we see now is a very different player to the one who arrived at Becroft Park 4 years ago. Emily has a huge work ethic and has put in hundreds of hours of work refining her goal keeping skills with a professional coach at a significant cost to her family who have been instrumental in helping Emily achieve her goals, and at only 18 she has a very bright future ahead.

The Team List ....

Emily’s dedication has paid off with Emily securing a first team spot this year and being selected in the NZ under 20 training squad who are off to the World Cup in November this year. Emily plays her school football at Takapuna Grammar where she plays in the first eleven however this year, being World Cup year, means Emily will have limited game time for her school.
