Music Tuition Programme
by Benefitz
Coordinator – Sarah McConnell
The success of our music tuition programme is largely due to the wonderful team of tutors who visit our school week after week, year after year, and in some cases, decade after decade! 2021 marks a special milestone for two of our itinerant team, Mrs Beverley Brockelbank and Mr Chris Mason-Battley, who are both celebrating 20 years as itinerant tutors in our Rangitoto community. Chris is a saxophone expert and a genius on anything related to jazz or music technology. Bev is a superstar on oboe and flute and the much-loved conductor of Wind Orchestra, Sinfonia and Concert Band. Bev and Chris are a real pleasure to have in our Music family, and I would like to officially acknowledge and thank them for their loyalty and support and for the critical role they play in the culture of the Performing Arts Department.
Of course continuity of staff is crucial for ensuring steady numbers, for increasing learning outcomes, and for enabling specific initiatives to succeed and thrive, but most of all it demonstrates that our staff love teaching at Rangitoto College! Who could ask for anything more?
