School Roll

2021 has been a challenging year for the international students at Rangitoto College. With the borders closed for international visitors for much of 2021, no new students were able to come into the country and all of our current international students were not able to go home to see family and friends for over a year. With over 120 international students still at Rangitoto, a big focus has been put on our students’ mental health and care, and the formation of our new globalization committee consisting of both international students and domestic students.

The purpose of the committee is to have a greater presence for the international students and help organize events for them. One such event was our Term 3 pizza lunch getting all our international students together to share some laughs fun and pizza!

Our international students made the best of their time at the school, getting involved in different sporting and after school events. Some students have had to finish their time at Rangitoto College early to head home for university enrolments; however, many will be staying on for the next year and more time away from their home families. We wish all the best to our leaving international students and hope their time at the school has had a positive impact in their future studies or endeavours!
