Exciting business merger for Armstrongs Chartered Accountants

Weavers Accountants, a long-standing practice in Coventry has come together with Armstrongs Chartered Accountants who have three offices across the Midlands.

Weavers Director Edward Buckworth decided that the time had come to retire after an accounting career spanning more than 60 years.

Edward (Ted) said “There were a number of options available to me, but with a longstanding client base, I wanted to ensure that our clients would be well serviced after my departure. Armstrongs shares similar values to Weavers, so I felt that they were a natural fit for my clients and would be the perfect employer for my team.”

A local firm of chartered accountants has merged with a national awardwinning Midlands firm.

Paul Farmer, Director at Armstrongs commented “As a forward-thinking firm, we are always looking for opportunities to expand. So, when Ted contacted us about his retirement, we knew this would be the ideal route for growing our Coventry office.

“We were excited to have the Weavers staff join our head office team at Westwood Business Park in Coventry and we’re enjoying getting to know our new clients and building long lasting relationships with them.”

With Armstrongs and Weavers coming together, there is an enhanced offering of accountancy and tax services to individuals and businesses across the local area.

Armstrongs provide a wide range of services including accounting, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, corporate finance, wealth planning, audit and assurance, business support and business development. The firm has offices in Coventry, Nuneaton & Hinckley.

Since Nexus Creative’s government funded link with Coventry University in 2018, via Innovate UK, the company has dramatically increased the number of clients it has won in the area. The 30-year-old marketing agency has seen a steady growth since that time, but recent large ‘wins’ have meant that Engage level Membership and the search for office space in the area is underway.

Managing Director Nigel Harte commented, “We have been very fortunate to win some wonderful clients in Coventry and surrounding areas and to become so involved in this vibrant business area is really allowing us to utilise our expertise.

As a full-service marketing agency, we offer every tactic to illicit business development on behalf of our clients. That is often improved footfall, increased profile or winning them new clients. However, in these difficult business times, revenue generation through what we do is often the imperative end goal.”

Nexus works with a range of organisations in the region, but were delighted to win the marketing contract for the incredible, stateof-the-art recycling facility in the heart of Coventry – Sherbourne Recycling Ltd. Sherbourne Recycling was established in 2021 to develop and operate a new state of the art materials recycling facility in Coventry on behalf of eight local authorities: (Coventry City Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Rugby Borough Council, Stratfordon-Avon District Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, Walsall Council and Warwick District Council)

Nigel adds, “We were delighted to have been selected by the team at Sherbourne as their marketing partner. We were engaged when the site was literally a muddy field and we have been involved every step of the way since.

“As the launch of this incredible AI based facility nears opening – we hope that the efforts of everyone involved in this project to consider the people of the region, the environment and how we can improve how waste is handled for the benefit of the planet, makes the team at Sherbourne and Coventry itself, a centre of excellence in this field.” For more information, head to https://www.nexuscl.com/
