What motivated you to set up in business ?

A desire to help protect wildlife, reduce the pest issues in West London and be self employed.

What do you like most about working as a start-up ?

The unpredictability and the fact that no two days are the same. Achieving monthly growth is a motivation.

What has been your greatest business success to date ?

Being nominated as a finalist by the Hillingdon Chamber of Commerce in their maiden awards ceremony is definitely a highlight of the business.

What has been your lowest moment ?

Not having much work in the first 3 months of the incorporation of the company has to be the lowest moment of the business so far. My van met with an accident when a new driver hit me from behind on a motorway. The whiplash and damage to the van meant that I couldn’t work for over a month. In terms of business achievements, where do you want to be within the next 5 years ?

To be a market leader for pest control requirements in the London Borough of Hillingdon area.

To be more involved with the Hillingdon council and be one of the contractors for the council.

To remain on top of existing technology and start implementing AI to offer cutting edge innovative pest control solutions to customers.

What would be your top tip to someone thinking of starting up their own business ?

Be prepared to get your hands dirty in the first year of business. Make sure you know the intricacies of the day-to-day activities before adding a new member of staff to the team.
