When I started business coaching in 2015, I was surprised at how few business owners made a significant financial return on their business even though many worked long hours. Most strikingly, very few seemingly successful businesses were actually worth anything. If the owner wanted to sell, they were unlikely to attract a meaningful value.

While most business owners I meet enjoy their business and have no present intention to sell, taking a few minutes out to peak over the horizon to be clear on what sort of life you want in the future often demonstrates a huge gap between ambition and reality.

As someone who woke up the other day to find to my shock and horror that I was 58 years old, I know that ten years can pass very quickly.

The good news is that if you have a good solid business now, you can, over 3 to 10 years, transform it into a substantial highly profitable business which will allow you the freedom, time, and finances to live the life you want.
