It is estimated that a quarter of adults in the UK are providing unpaid care to a relative, partner or friend. There are at least 115,000 unpaid carers in Hertfordshire. Show your support for unpaid carers

Caring for someone can be both rewarding and incredibly demanding. It can take a toll on the carer’s health, finances and relationships, especially through the pandemic.

Carers in Hertfordshire is there to ensure unpaid carers living, working or caring in Hertfordshire are identified, informed and supported! The charity provides emotional and practical support to children and adult carers, so they don’t have to care in isolation. Carers are also empowered to help shape local services by having their views and experiences heard. Annie, 21, who cares for various family members and has been in touch with Carers in Hertfordshire since she was nine, said: “Carers in Hertfordshire has been a real support to me. The activities you arrange enable carers like me to try new things and develop our skills as well as provide a break from caring and an opportunity to meet other carers.”

You could help support carers by: • Making us your Charity of the Year; • Donating your skills, products or services. • Holding a fundraising event such as a bake sale or taking part in a sponsored activity e.g. a run or cycle. • Buying our Christmas Cards designed by carers. The cards are £4 for a pack of 10.
