with lots of small companies often employing one to ten staff but still want a uniform to promote their business.
As well as their normal work they also undertake special projects. They recently worked with one of HRH King Charles’ charities, the Royal Countryside Fund to produce an A2-sized tapestry to be presented to one of their supporters. Each letter had to be individually created and embroidered and took over four hours to run on the embroidery machine. In creating the tapestry, they used sustainable threads that are made from wood pulp.

The importance of using uniforms as a marketing tool for a business has undoubtedly led to a focus on branding and imagery. The wider availability of branded workwear is one tool available to marketers to help boost image, improve customer perceptions, and make employees feel more like part of a team.
A recognisable uniform means a recognisable brand. The more ways a customer can connect to your brand, the more they will remember to come to you when they need your services. A strong uniform can also act as a fantastic advertising strategy, as potential customers may have access to the brand while they are on the move.
If a member of staff is wearing a uniform, it is likely they will be more aware of their actions as they are easily identified by their uniform. Being more aware is likely to result in more positive behaviour, which will create a positive impression of your company and ultimately will influence how your customers feel about your brand.
Uniforms, as well as providing awareness, can be important for safety – from hard hats to hi-visibility garments – and without it many workers would be at risk every day.
Whether it be head-to-toe uniform, a simple shirt or a badge, a uniform can also evoke trust in a company from consumers, patients, customers and importantly, their very own staff. They can help employees feel a valued part of the company, thus creating a sense of pride.
Embroidery and printing of your logo on to your organisation’s clothing is an effective way to promote and identify your business. They supply and brand polo shirts, sweatshirts, company shirts and fleeces, jackets, corporate clothing, hi vis, hospitality clothing, health wear and many other types of clothing.

In April 2023 they moved into new premises in Welwyn Garden City and purchased a Direct to Film printing machine, the first of its kind in Hertfordshire. DTF printing allows for high quality detailed imagery to be printed directly on to garments without expensive costs associated with screen printing – in fact at 3Drakes they do not charge set-up fees.

They recently had the pleasure of working with the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce to produce branded T-shirts and promotional cotton shopping bags.
Georgia Nicholls, Event Manger at the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, said “Doug Lee was a pleasure to work with, he was very professional and helpful the whole way through the process. The Herts Chamber team were very impressed with the quality of the finished products, and we will definitely be using 3Drakes again in the future.”
As well as producing work for the Chamber, they are also on the Entrepreneur Foundation that has given them access to some excellent presentations and support that have led to them being able to focus on where they want to take the business and given practical advice on how to get there.
