Growing Your Business with Advice

“What support is available for my business?”

is a question we get asked frequently and many businesses that we speak with are often initially disappointed to hear that the support available to them may not always be in the form of a business grant.

Funding can provide a shortterm solution and fuel the growth of your business.

Selling more products and services may also generate cash, but neither of these solutions offer any guarantee of business success.

There is no arguing that funding is important, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that’s important to your business. Other things that your business needs to get right to achieve consistent and robust growth include:

Your offer - A good starting point is to evaluate your offering and whether it still meets your customers’ needs. Do you need to modify what you do, and the way you do it, too? Do you have a sustainability proposition?

Operations - Are you able to deliver what your customers need, when they want it, and at a price they are prepared to pay?

Marketing - Is your marketing creating the enquiries that you need to generate more sales?

Sales - Do your sales team and their processes ensure that you can convert ‘interest’ into orders?

Your team - What skills does your business need? Upskilling existing staff and/or do you need to recruit? Supporting wellbeing in the workplace can reduce absenteeism, presenteeism, improve motivation and staff retention.

Finance - Do you truly understand where all the money is going? Do you know exactly where you make money and where you spend money?
