– DOHR expansion is par for the course at Hertsmere
AHertfordshire HR firm is feeling anything but “under par” after relocating to the Hertsmere Business Hub at popular The Hertsmere, a golf club in Elstree.

DOHR, run by twice-published author Donna Obstfeld, has been based in Borehamwood for many years.
However, with an increase in team members (five with a new trainee starting soon) and the expansion of Donna’s HR training and business coaching services, the time was right to make the move
Donna explains: “It feels a little funny making the move as Borehamwood has been our home for the past five years and we’ve 'grown up' as a business there. However, with that, we have increased the size of the team and the number of events we run, so a relocation was required. “Obviously the setting is stunning, and I think that our valued team members and visitors will love the new surroundings. They provide both a wonderful sense of peace and also that extra spark of energy and creativity which is going to be hugely welcome in the fast-changing world of HR and employment.”
It has been a busy few weeks for DOHR, as they packed up the office, with Donna being shortlisted as a finalist in the Businessperson of the Year Award category at the Hertfordshire Business Awards 2023.
With those on the horizon and a raft of workplace legislation set to hit the House of Lords for debate, before being rolled out into the ever-changing modern workplace, will Donna and her team have time to practise their game?
Donna suspects not too much: “Working life is all about balance so I will try but I’m not known as a golfer. However, there’s a number of clients that have already been in touch about popping down for a few rounds. I think they meant the first 18, not the 19th but we’re always keen to celebrate their success as their trusted business partner so who knows?!” l We focus on attracting people who match our values first and foremost l We encourage people with little or no experience to come and ‘have a go’ through our work experience programme l Our own experienced people love to be mentors and share their experience l We are working with Herts LEP to partner with local schools, CTP to retrain ex-services personnel and in collaboration with other industry colleagues l We are starting an Academy to train and upskill apprentices and trainees www.mcp.community
