This year we launched and took part in FIVER FEST. A campaign run by Totally Locally offering a chance for independent businesses to use their collective power to encourage people back to their town centres. It was Sidcup’s way of saying thank you to customers who supported them during these testing times and to prove once again, that the small local businesses can compete with the online giants, big retailers and the supermarkets. In fact, they beat them hands down in many ways, but most of all their contribution to our local economies. Twenty-two of our local independent businesses participated offering items for £5 which would usually cost more for one week in March and the feedback was fantastic with some of our businesses even continuing to offer the promotion after FIVER FEST ended. Promotions included
Tea/Coffee and cake, starters, gin and tonic, plants, business flyers and much more. It was a huge success and great to see businesses supporting one another and the community shopping and supporting local. www.totallylocally.org
