New shop fronts and units for local businesses at Erith Riverside Centre with welcoming new street level shop frontage are now open. Some of the new shop floor space, known as the ‘Curiosity Cabinet’, will be offered for free to small local businesses and creative enterprises giving them instant access to a prime town centre location.

Free help and advice for small businesses

To support small businesses and help them recover following the pandemic London Borough of Bexley have partnered with Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), to offer one year of free membership to the organisation, enabling local enterprises based in Bexley, to access a wide range of advice and support.

Providing digital support for businesses

To support small to medium enterprises (SME’s) in understanding how to use digital technology to fully benefit their business, London Borough of Bexley and South East Enterprise are working in partnership to deliver a 3 year e-business digital support programme. The programme will help Bexley businesses to access new e-commerce markets and broaden their reach.

Free resources for local businesses

All of the libraries in Bexley provide a range of new resources to support anyone wishing to start or grow a business. In collaboration with Bexley Business & Employment (BBE), the library service is expanding the business resources it provides and has created a Business Knowledge Hub. The Hub is free to use for anyone who has created an account with Bexley Libraries. Mintel and Kompass are also available alongside the business encyclopaedia Cobra.

Free co-working and office space

The Engine House and London Borough of Bexley are working together to design a support package for local businesses and entrepreneurs. Small businesses that have been trading for more than 12 months can apply for a funded co-working desk free of charge for six months. Eligibility criteria apply and applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis.

Bexley Business & Employment (BBE) provide a free recruitment service helping businesses recruit the right staff that will give them that competitive edge. Businesses based in the Borough can take advantage of this free vacancy service that will assign them a personal Business Advisor to manage vacancies, shortlist candidates and arrange interviews.
