How to Buy a Home in the United States

The first stage of looking for a property to purchase usually starts with the buyer deciding whether they would like to instruct a real estate agent to assist them. If an agent is instructed, this person will search for suitable properties to present to the client.

The Closing
If the client decides that they would like to purchase a property, the agent can (if required) offer advice on the price and will then usually enter into a negotiation with the listing agent until an agreement is made in terms of the final selling price.
The closing meeting is where the final documents are signed by the buyer and seller of the property to officially finalize the sale. Agent commissions – and all other closing costs – are settled as part of this process.
Inspection Takes Place The next stage of the buying process is inspection, to determine whether the property has any defects or repairs that need to be undertaken. The buying and selling agents will again negotiate to resolve these issues.
