CHT Architects design intent for Liberty One is to create a building that reinforces the metaphorical link between the flow of the river and the dynamic culture of Footscray. Liberty One’s design resonates with a sense of the river’s unique character and incorporates sustainable design elements to minimise the building’s environmental impact. Standing 23-storeys proud, the smooth-edged curves of the upper façade allude to the continual ebb and flow of water while the defined ridges of the building’s lower façade subtly reference a similar pattern in local riverbeds.
