SCRIPTURE PASSAGE:
1 Kings 19:19-21; 2 Kings 2:1-22 BIBLE STORY SUMMARY:
God sent Elijah to Elisha to anoint him as the next prophet over Israel, and Elisha went with him right away. The time came for Elijah to be taken to heaven by God, and he asked Elisha if there was anything he could do for him. Elisha asked to inherit the fullness of God’s Spirit that Elijah had. Elijah was taken up into heaven, and Elisha performed the first miracles showing to the people that God’s Spirit rested on him. LESSON FOCUS:
We should be ready to obey when God calls us.
We should be thinking about what God wants, not what we want.
God helps us do the impossible through His Spirit.
