Dear Parents, We hope the following summary of the Sunday School lesson will help you in discussing the lesson with your children and working through this booklet together.

Elisha

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE: 2 Kings 6:8-23 BIBLE STORY SUMMARY: The king of Aram was raiding Israel, but Elisha kept telling the king of Israel where he was going to attack so they could defend themselves. They decided that they needed to capture Elisha, so they surrounded the city where he was staying. When Elisha’s servants saw they were surrounded, they were afraid, but Elisha asked God to show them God’s angels surrounding them so they could see that His army was greater than the enemy army. When the army from Aram began to attack, Elisha asked God to make them all blind, and then he led them away from the city and to the capital city of Samaria. When God restored their sight, they realized that they were as good as captured. The king of Israel asked Elisha what he should do with them, and Elisha told him to treat them well, so he fed them and sent them on their way, and they did not attack Israel again. LESSON FOCUS: 

God is greater than anything or anyone who would try to harm me.

With God on my side, I can overcome any enemy.

Surrounded By God’s Army Protected by god

WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT GOD: 

This Week’s Memory Verse:

God is a big God, and He is able to protect me with His angels.

RESPONSE: 

To be willing to think about my life with a faith that is bigger than myself and my surroundings; God is great.

To look to God for the solution of my troubles, not focusing on the immediate trouble, or worrying; but with concern, trusting in God for the solution.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
