Jesus The Savior of the World

BIBLE STORY SUMMARY: God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. He sent His angels to announce the Savior’s birth and tell the shepherds where to find Him. The shepherds hurried to see and worship Him, and they told others the things they had seen. They praised God for all they had seen and heard. LESSON FOCUS: To understand the good news: A savior has been born. He is Christ the Lord. To choose to respond to this good news by asking Jesus to forgive you and give you eternal life. To choose to respond by making Jesus Lord of your life. WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT GOD: Jesus Christ is LORD! LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT WE’VE LEARNED: To whom did God send angels to announce the birth of His Son in Bethlehem? What was the response? To shepherds outside the town of Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. After the angels left, the shepherds quickly went to Bethlehem to look for the baby they had been told about. What information did the angel give to the shepherds to help them find the newborn Jesus? They were to look for a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. They probably looked in many of Bethlehem’s stables before finding the baby Jesus. What did the shepherds do after they had seen the Christ child? They told others about what the angels had told them.

God Announces the Birth of Jesus

Angels Bring Good News

How did the people of Bethlehem respond to the message? They were amazed; but there is no record that they did anything about it.

This Week’s Memory Verse Will you ask Jesus to forgive you and give you eternal life?

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.

Will you tell others the good news that Jesus came to die for sin and give eternal life?

I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Will you praise and thank God for His wonderful gift of salvation?

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.”

See you on Sunday!
