Jesus The Savior of the World
BIBLE STORY SUMMARY: God created people, and He knew they would choose to sin, so He prepared His gift of eternal life. He sent His prophets to tell people, and then sent His Son Jesus to save His people from their sin. When the time was right, He chose Mary, who was pleased to do the work God had chosen for her to do. LESSON FOCUS: To understand my sin has separated me from God and I also need a savior. To understand that God’s gift of eternal life is the greatest gift I could ever receive. WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT GOD: God is holy—He cannot have sin in heaven with Him. God loves me and sent His own dearly loved Son as a sacrifice so I could be with Him. LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT WE’VE LEARNED: What was life like for Adam and Eve? At first, they enjoyed walking and talking with God. When they chose to sin, their spirits--the part of them that enjoyed walking with God—died. They became afraid as their sin came between them and God. Was God surprised when Adam and Eve sinned? No. In fact, even before He created the world, God planned to send His Son to pay the penalty for sin so that people could have eternal life. (I Peter 1:19-20) What is eternal life? Knowing God and Jesus right now and living with God forever in heaven after our bodies die. (John 17:3) When the angel told Mary that God had chosen her to bear His Son, how did she respond? After the angel calmed her fears and explained her part in God’s plan, Mary said she was the Lord’s servant and would do whatever He asked.

Isaiah 9:6
December 1, 2013
MONDAY – SIN SEPARATES PEOPLE FROM GOD Today we are looking at God’s Word in Genesis 2:15 to 17 and 3:1 to 13. When God created the world, he made Adam and Eve as the very first people. He planted a garden and walked there every day with Adam and Eve. He told them that they could enjoy everything in the garden except the fruit from one special tree. Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, and they ate from that tree. Then they were afraid of God. Their sin was like a great big wall between them and God.
In the box below, draw a big stick figure for God. Draw stick people for Adam and Eve holding hands with God.
In the box below, put God on the left side. Draw a line down the middle of the box. Write SIN on the line you drew. Draw Adam and Eve on the other side of the wall of sin that you drew.
SATURDAY – THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE Our memory verse is written below, but there is one wrong word in each line! Find the wrong word in each line and cross it out. Then write the correct word above it.
For to you a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the kingdom will be on His shoulders. And He won’t be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty King, Everlasting Son, Prince of Peace. Luke 9:6

FRIDAY – MARY PRAISES GOD Today, we are looking at God’s Word in Luke 1:34 to 55. At first, Mary was afraid when the angel came to visit. She wondered how she could have a baby when she wasn’t even married yet! The angel told her that God would do it all. God’s Spirit would put the child within her. What did the angel say to Mary? (Verse 37)
TUESDAY – GOD’S PLAN TO TAKE AWAY SIN Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, but God was not surprised. Even before He created the world, God made a plan to tear down the wall of sin. God wants people to know Him just like Adam and Eve did before they sinned. Eternal life is knowing God, and knowing Jesus right now. Eternal life is also living with God forever in heaven after our bodies die. Read John 3:16. Fill in the missing words:
N_____________ is impossible with God! What did Mary say to the angel? (Verse 38) Please find someone who is older than I am. I am too afraid. I am God’s Servant. I will do whatever He asks. This can’t happen, I won’t believe you. Later, Mary wrote a song of praise to God for choosing her to be the mother of His Son. (Verses 46 to 55) During the Christmas season we hear a lot of music about when Jesus was born. WEDNESDAY – GOD’S PROPHETS TELL ABOUT HIS SON Many times, God told His people that He would send His Son to take away their sin.
