Dear Parents, We hope the following summary of the Sunday School lesson will help you in discussing the lesson with your children and in working through this booklet together. SCRIPTURE PASSAGES: Luke 1:26-38 and 46-56

Jesus The Savior of the World

BIBLE STORY SUMMARY: God created man, and He knew they would choose to sin, so He prepared His gift of eternal life. He sent His prophets to tell people, and then sent His Son Jesus to save His people from their sin. When the time was right, He chose Mary, who was pleased to do the work God had chosen for her to do. LESSON FOCUS:  To understand my sin has separated me from God and I also need a savior.  To understand that God’s gift of eternal life is the greatest gift I could ever receive. WHAT WE LEARNED ABOUT GOD: God is holy – He cannot have sin in heaven with Him. God loves me and sent His own dearly loved Son as a sacrifice so I could be with Him. LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT WE’VE LEARNED: Adam and Eve walked in the garden with God! One day they chose to eat of the tree. What happened that day? (Their spirits died and they were separated from God. When God came to walk with them, they hid.) Was God surprised by their sin? (No, God had prepared a plan to deal with man’s sin. God would send Jesus to save His people from their sin.)

When the perfect time came, who did God send to announce the Promised One? (He sent His angel Gabriel to talk to Mary.) What did Gabriel tell Mary? (She would have child and she should name Him Jesus. He would be great and would reign forever.)

God’s Plan to Send the Savior

The Promised Savior This Week’s Memory Verse:

How did Mary feel about these things? (She said, “I am the Lord’s servant, I will do whatever He asks.”)

Why do we need a Savior? (Our sin has separated us from God.) Will you believe that you are a sinner and you need the Savior to take your sin away? Will you receive the gift of eternal life now that Jesus has paid for your sin?

For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Monday - Tempted to Sin Read: Genesis 2:4-10, 15-23, and 3:8-11

Saturday – This Week’s Puzzle

Only One Way to Salvation – Jesus!

Adam and Eve were created last in the order of God’s creation, but they were the first people created. They were the first ones created “in the image of God.” They were created for a friendship with God. Did Adam and Eve have a nice place to live?  sort of  yes  no  it was terrific What job had the Lord given them? ___________________________________________________ What they were told not to do? ___________________________________________________. When Satan, the great deceiver, caused Eve to doubt the truth of God’s Word and tempted her to eat the fruit, she did. Adam did the same. Can you tell me some of the things they felt after they ate the fruit?      

they were ashamed they wanted to hide they were afraid they wished they had clothes ______________________ ______________________

When they gave into temptation, they didn’t physically die. What part of them actually died? _____________________

There is only one way out of this maze. Can you start in the center and find your way out? There is only one way to salvation, and that is Jesus. God announced it many ways. Jesus came to be the way, the truth, and the life. Have you asked Him to be the Lord of your life? God has given us the greatest gift. Have you accepted it? If not, could there be any better day than today?
